"Stella Christine is Finland's own Duffy, if not even Amy. Soulful and elegant."
- Mari Koppinen / Helsingin Sanomat
Stella Christine (born 13.5.1992) is a Finnish singer/songwriter and performer. She first rose to public attention when she competed in “Uuden Musiikin Kilpailu” in 2016 (Competition of New Music), which is the national pre-selection of the Finnish Eurovision Song Contest representant. She was chosen from hundreds of applicants to enter the competition with 17 other contestants. The semi-final was a big success and she made it to the finals (top 9) with her self-written debut single “Ain’t Got Time For Boys”. The song has been played on the radio along with only a few of the other Finnish Eurovision songs in 2016.
In 2017 she released her second official single "Starship" and in May 2018 she was the supporting act for Erja Lyytinen in Berlin, where she also performed at the Holy Grail Guitar show with a new acoustic archtop guitar made by Ruokangas Guitars. The end of the year she spent touring across the country with the famous Finnish rockband Yö, singing backing vocals and playing guitar October-December 2018. She also featured on their new album on the song "Haavoitetut".
Stella Christine will release her debutalbum in 2020. First three singles from the album are already out on all platforms!
As an artist, Stella Christine has the ability to deliver soulful and delicate renditions alone with both guitar and piano but also to give a vibrant performance together with her band.
Stella Christine also performs in several coverbands and different kind of theater-/show-/concert-/tv-productions and teaches singing.
